Now, a brand physique and a social media influencer, how do you judge them?
You do by the number of followers they got?
Does the number of followers on different social media influencers account gets you talking? but how does that help much?
Do we judge high performing social media influencers by the number of followers? and do you think everyone can’t hustle hard for that?
Now, we need to think and get things right. When talking about social media influencers the rate at which you place them matters.
And if you think to place high odds on the noise-makers calling themselves social media influencers just for trending.
That way I will also check whether you ain’t high. As you may look up to them in a way you see the trend to some extent that won’t do much.
And if you think that isn’t necessary I don’t get you to blame yet I just got some spot on and no hard feelings.
But if you’re here and there judging social media influencers based on the number of followers and not what was impacted.
Then I know you’re among them and you walk in their ways.
According to Hootsuite, the Whatapp platform is the most active social media platform about 85% of users.
On the surface, this social media marketing tool recorded over 90 million Nigerian users of which 53% access the internet on a daily basis.
The top-notch of it all and the recent data(most search keywords by Nigerians in 2019) done by Google shows how irrelevant some Nigerians are to a nation.
And here’s what weektracker completing say about it.

No single throwback to what matters leaving a faulty legacy to the younger ones as they see them as mentors and influentials.
Well, in this guide, I will show you how to become a social media influencer and the lists of people in it.
So, here’s the kicker.
How to become a social media influencer in Nigeria 2020 and their lists:
  1. Know your social media keyword
  2. Stay contest in it.
  3. Create a high performing content strategy
  4. Pick your channel
  5. Network within your hole
  6. Participate in off-site forums
  7. Create a blog
  8. Comment on other influential channels when necessary
  9. Always stay consistent

Step 1 Know your social media keyword

At the time I started blogging what really drives me to it is this.
First was the passion I had for it and when I realized I do feel so passionate about it.
Then I begin to learn the hard way. But the secret thing is that I stayed focus on it and that matters.
As an influencer, you must stay focus on a thing not diverting too many and that sucks.
People should know you for a thing, not things that don’t count at all. It shows every Nigerians aim both the upcoming and the established ones is to trend.
They care less about the rest things once the media outlets account for the irrelevancy trademark they believe is a hot cake for them.
When I started out as a blogger, what I did first was to pick up a keyword even though nobody knew me either.
But that isn’t the drive at first. So I bother less about it then I face what matters.
The influential people you look up to today started as you and what grew and improve them over time is consistency.
Just recently, one of the things I did as per se I just want to leverage something different.
I use Google trends and I think its better you build on that as well.

The chart will show you the trending keywords of your respective industry.
Damn! You know what.
That was when I started popping up ideas in the industry I found myself in.
But lets me explain a thing. I didn’t just pick up the keyword-based on how it trends.
Instead, I leverage myself and effectively brand it with passion.
That matters.
Like I told you that was the moment I started to see changes and marketer influentials follow me up.
The likes of John Lincoln, the CEO of @ignitev 3x Inc, and search engine land search marketer of the year.

How to become social media influencer

Larry Wentz, a domain investor.
With over 815.5k twitter followers. What a huge number that was.
And the likes of pressfarm, interactive powers, Mandy McEwen - The consultant growth coach.

Named a top 24 #B2B marketer by LinkedIn and many more.

How to become twitter influencer in Nigeria

Although I still have a few followers on that twitter account as I started it new.
Still, I need to grow the reputation more in order to get found in my secret hole.
I understand that and I never stay careless about it because I know what a social media influencer truly means.
And this gets me contained.

Step 2 Stay contest in it

That was actually pressed forth and I stayed relevant even more.
You can get a bit nervous at first it happens and that shouldn’t get you down quick.
After I know what exactly to do there then people of my kind follow me up.
Even though I spent fewer hours on social media platforms that really don’t get me stuck.
At least every day I spare 1-2 hours on social media platforms and as a social media influencer, you should spend even more.
When I started out it was a bit difficult for me but I didn’t procrastinate thou.
And if you’re one of them that wants to become a social media influencer you need to do much like me.
Well, I’m not the social media type but the internet one.
And if you’re going to brand yourself as a social media influencer then starting with a compelling profile picture works.
Here’s the thing.
Don Jazzy is the big man in the world of Music Industry in Nigeria and you can quote him as an influencer.

This way he brands himself to the world and his twitter account says it all.
A stranger can easily comprehend what he’s doing through his profile.
That is when they know who exactly you’re as an individual or brand.
The short description says a lot about you because that’s what draws people of your kind to engage with you.
And you need to build a contest in it.
Be unique, creative, and passionate.
All that works.

Step 3 Create a high performing content strategy

This story of mine may help you think as part of my blogging career will reveal a lot to it.
When I started I sounded like a new teacher. Then I published a low budget content and I couldn’t help by not deleting them all.
Which I later do to some. But one thing really helped me that’s “improvement” then when I started I was pretty much learning.
I can’t just be a professional in a day. It can’t just happen overnight.
It takes commitment and consistency to achieve that.
I taught that I could succeed as a blogger by just working hard by myself.
Damn. Now I realized that couldn’t help much.
I had to build a content strategy.
I identify my goals, set a unique selling point, create a workflow, and post time.
Having a content schedule and calendar will help while retargeting.
You have to create a set amount of social posts on every network while you maintain the posting frequency on your blog and improve its quality.
Stay focus on your goals and make sure the audience understands the motive behind it. It can be frustrating at times to them especially when they seem not to know what’s next to do.
While you do that set a post range and identify policies and standards. That alone will be your unique point as well as your voice and tone.
Meaning you have to craft out content on a regular basis. A social media influencer must do as much.

Step 4 Pick your channels

It’s not every social media platform that is meant for you. For instance, Facebook may not be my thing that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try.
It might work out fine for you. According to statscounter, Facebook is by far the most popular and dominant social media in Nigeria.

It’s for all demographics(everyone).
Well, as for me, I enjoy sparing more of my time on Twitter even though I don’t play favorites, and that matters to me.
When engaging with the audience, play a role for your outfit and study which channel is suited best for you.
You’ll achieve that by the engagement rates each social media channel triggers. That will help a lot by the time you want to add something more unique.
By that time you know where to get the best result from. Just don’t play favorites but stay consistent on all channels.
Either way, if you think to stay this active on so many social media networks isn’t your thing then pick one or two to start building out your moment.
As an influencer, every time you think of a better way to reach out to the audience and maximize the opportunity.

Step 5 Network within your hole

As a social media influencer, you need to make real trends within your loop.
Everyone can’t just sit at home and wait for influencers to connect with them.
That just can’t happen. You’ll need to work out for it and not necessarily you go hawking the streets.
I don’t really mean that but that’s simply not an option. Popular Pizza shopping complex, Domino’s, for instance, has 1.3 million Twitter followers.

They’re very active with their followers, engage with them in real-time and use Emojis, hashtags, and call-to-action “Re-tweet” to increase the audience engagement rate.
It can be hard to get the sweet side of these influencers may be because you haven’t done enough yet.
And you can simply do better and use relevant hashtags to boost the organic reach of your content.
Maybe with that, you can get found when you’re a nobody.
Just like the way I started receiving a bit of success without knowing anyone.

Step 6 Contribute to off-site forums

I started this recently, I leverage quora and I start by building more insights for support to those that need hands for help.

Not everyone will think of this as a social media influencer. Most of them don’t venture out of social media and participate in forums, community talks, and online touchpoints.
But as for you, that’s just starting you can be a part of internet creation to boost your reputation, influence, and authority.

Step 7 Create a blog

If you are going to be recognized as a social media influencer, you must have a blog for your audience that gets them tracking your personal story.
Part of the thing you can do because now I stitch a lot of my personal idea into my content.
And that tells a lot about my personality maybe that isn’t your thing then don’t die out for it.
A way to go about the whole thing that shadows more promising is when you create a place like home to direct your social media followers as you gain them.
For example, the giant pizza merchandise, Domino’s, just with a little thought in mind a website link was placed on their profile that directs you for more action and conversion.

And according to research, tweets with links have an 82% higher engagement rate.
So as the conversation doesn’t end on social media platforms a link to your website can actually boost your audience engagement rate.
Just keep the handle short and sweet to remember.

Step 8 Response to comment

As you think and not say by mouth, that counts. To be a social media influencer if you’re not providing value and adding a huge idea to the conversation.
You’ll never reach any influential in your industry.
Heck, one thing I invested on now is that I comment on most influential marketing platforms the likes of search engine journal, Moz, Search engine land, and ahrefs.

Especially when the post involved a question and answer related trend then I comment so diligently to their request.
And it pay off and it will over time.
Word of mouth is the most valuable and actionable compass driving call-to-action today.
If you can impress influentials enough with your knowledge and composure, they’ll be forced to check up on you and give a shout out.
And everyone else will be prompt to do as much.

Step 9 Always stay consistent

David Adeleke known as Davido makes an estimated $ 74,000(#26.7 million) on every sponsored post on Instagram.

The truth is that when you stay consistent and grow that vibe in you everyone else will be forced to make a purchase on you.
When you consistently come through the epic zone that tells most of your brand story then it’s important you stick to be authentic and stay relevant at all cost.
Because an authentic tone and call-to-action on social media is more crucial and does go farther than irrelevant trends.
It can be achieved when you consistently publish fresh content that adds value.
It’s not easy but I’m trying to master that as well.
As that is important in order to keep my readers frequently update.
At this time I’d like to focus more on my content strategy, providing visual content, and link to my blog.
Focusing on my blog has really helped through social sharing and many more.
Now, pinned tweets to a profile can be as good as retargeting.
When you published a post, pinned tweet them for retargeting as people may want to do a re-check on it.
It’s not easy to become a social media influencer, you have to remain to engage and stay approachable to your followers.
And in a monument at all times.
